In Katni district, Congress workers carried out an unusual form of protest to highlight what they described as continuous neglect by the local administration. The protest took place when Congress members reached the tehsil office to submit a memorandum regarding public problems such as power shortages, shortage of fertilizers for farmers, and lack of doctors and facilities in government hospitals. However, when the concerned official allegedly refused to accept their memorandum, the workers expressed strong displeasure.
To draw public attention, the Congress workers symbolically handed over the memorandum to a dog present near the office, stating that even an animal was more receptive than government officials. They said the act reflected the administration’s apathy toward people’s issues. The protest quickly became a topic of discussion in the district and on social media. Congress leaders warned that if citizens’ grievances continue to be ignored, the party would intensify its agitation and take the matter to higher authorities.
