A 14‑year‑old boy in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, suffered severe facial injuries after a sudden explosion occurred inside his home near the refrigerator. The blast left him unconscious with his jaw and facial bones fractured in multiple places. His mother fainted upon discovering him, and neighbors rushed him to a local hospital before he was transferred to a private hospital in Jabalpur for advanced treatment.
Specialist doctors performed an extensive reconstructive surgery lasting several hours to repair his shattered jaw and facial bones. The boy’s condition has since improved, and he has been taken off life support. The family remains uncertain about the exact cause of the explosion, noting smoke near the refrigerator but not yet inspecting the site to determine what triggered the blast.
